We packed the mash tun using more grain than we’ve ever used in a single batch to create a beer that’s bold, rich and complex, yet still balanced and drinkable. A high percentage of blended roasted malts drive the aroma and flavour towards dark cocoa, licorice and coffee, while the use of dark crystal malts adds further complexity. The complex grain bill cuts through the higher finishing gravity and balances the 9.5% abv, creating a medium body and full mouthfeel. Pours with a copious tan head that’s long-lasting, while notes of fruitcake and vanilla start to emerge as the beer warms.
